Project Name : Carisbrooke
Project Type : Private Residential
Location : Merseyside
Our Role : Architect & Interior design stage 1-4

Twentysix were approached by a growing family to provide designs and technical drawings for the extension and full refurbishment of a 1930,s semi detached property.

Providing an open plan kitchen / diner at the heart of the house was key to the family creating a space where they could spend time together in the morning and evenings. A better visual and physical link to the garden was provided by large corner opening glass sliding doors allowing the internal space to flow into the external landscape. In addition to the ground floor works a roof dormer clad in zinc provided a large guest bedroom with ensuite and a new timber clad garden office was included in the landscape works.

Storage and functional spaces were hidden within a ground floor side extension linking back through to the main space through a series of hidden panel doors. A strong palette of materials was used including exposed oak timber roof joists, grey brick to external and internal walls and a strong yellow for kitchen back splashes and reveals to new openings.
